Vincent Pelikan has been a consultant at FNR for five years. His focuses are bio-energy related projects, activities and international committees on European and global level. Before joining the FNR he gained three years’ work experiences as a project manager in the field of sustainable economic development. He holds a degree in political science and acts as FNR advisor in the department for European and International Cooperation.


Martin Gaber

Within the Waldverband Steiermark GmbH (Forest Association Steiermark), Martin Gabler is responsible for the biomass sector. Since 2009, he is working in the field of biomass, inter alia as director of the cooperative Biomass Logistic and Trade Centre Leoben. The managing activities there included the construction of the Biomass Logistic and Trade Centre with all its logistical, political and economic challenges. Today, the Biomass Logistic and Trade Centre Leoben is one of the largest biomass farms in Austria and a member of the Waldverband Steiermark GmbH. Within the Waldverband Steiermark GmbH, Martin Gaber aims at professionalizing and expanding the association’s activities in the field of biomass. His responsibilities include on the one side biomass supply management, and on the other side the participation in international and national projects in the field of biomass and round logs.


Visa Ion

Prof. Ion Visa is the initiator of the IFToMM Technical Committee Sustainable Energy Systems in and Vice- President of the European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance – ESEIA, being also member of national and international organisms for promoting renewable and sustainable energy solutions at community level. He is Head of the R&D Centre Renewable Energy Systems and Recycilng in the Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania and member of the Romanian Academy for Technical Sciences. He is (co-)author of over 200 papers published in main stream journals, 15 submitted patents, coordinated over 30 international and national research grants on promoting renewable energy systems in the built environment, including the structural funds project of 20 M EUR that developed the R&D Institute of The Transilvania University, as a sustainable community. He launched for the first time in Romania an integrated training line B.Sc. – M.Sc.- Ph.D. on renewable energy systems . His R&D interest is in developing efficient renewable energy systems for the built environment, with particular focus on solar energy conversions systems implemented in buildings.


Jasminka Dimitrova Kapac

Mrs Jasminka Dimitrova Kapac is born in 1969. She received bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, in 1994. Currently, she is preparing her master thesis at the MBA c. School of Master Bussines Administration “American College” Skopje. Besides the Project Manager (President) position at MACEF – Macedonian Centre for Energy Efficiency, the professional associations she joins as a member are the following: Macedonian Chamber of Engineers and Architects (since 2009), International Geothermal Association (since 1992), National Association of Power Engineers, and Macedonian Association of Geothermal Energy. She has considerable experience with FP7 and H2020 Projects which creates a great possibility for synergies. Moreover, she is working intensively with municipalities in the areas of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Energy Efficiency (EE).


Slobodan Cvetković

Slobodan Cvetkovic has experience more than 19 years in renewable energy sector. After 12 years in the industrial sector, in 2008 he started to work in public administration, where he has involved in development of strategic and legal documents in the field of renewable energy and implementation of national and international projects in this area. He has finished specialization in the field of renewable energy (biomass, biogas and biofuels) in prestigious institutions in Germany, China and India. Currently,  he is working in Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection as a Head of Group for renewable resources.


Jože Prah

Mr. Jože Prah is forester working for the Slovenian Forest Service in the Management Unit Brežice. Mr. Prah is well known in Slovenia as one of the most active local actors working in the area of forestry, rural development, energy and tourism. He is certified consultant in the network LesEnSvet, which provides information on wood biomass potentials, and modern technologies of production, processing and use to local population and all other interested parties (LesEnSvet webpage). Mr. Prah is also organizer of Educational circles, and establisher of coal production traditional practice in Slovenia and the Association for Development of Slovenian Countryside. He is also a member of many other organizations and organizer of different thematic events related to nature and tourism.


Zlatko Benković

Graduated at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Zagreb, and became Forestry Engineer. He is currently pursuing a postgraduate university doctoral study programme of Forestry and Wood Technology at the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Zagreb, and working towards his PhD degree with a doctoral dissertation topic “DEVELOPMENTAL ASPECTS OF USING FOREST BIOMASS AS AN ELEMENT OF NATIONAL FORESTRY POLICY.“

Participated in implementation of international projects:

  • Development of a sustainable charcoal industry, FAO project;
  • Woodheat Solutions (WHS), Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme of the European Commission.

Zlatko has also published several scientific and professional publications in the field of energy use of forest biomass.
