Toolkit for financing options, contractual issues and ownership models completed

The BioVill partner KEA has recently issued a handbook comprising guidance on possible financing options, operating and ownership models and contractual issues between the different actors engaged in the development of a bioenergy village.

The handbook provides holistic guidance on energy conservation measures in buildings as well as the implementation of renewable energy systems to produce power and/or heat in bioenergy villages. Emphasizing the social engagement of the initiators, the handbook covers the various phases and challenges throughout the development of a bioenergy village. The recommendations and insights are derived from long-term experience in the establishment and the accompaniment of bioenergy villages in Germany and Austria. They contain both generic information on how to initialize a bioenergy village as well as business models described in detail in order to illustrate concrete calculations.

The handbook can be downloaded here.
